在不斷更新進的的原料中，蟲膠在天然化妝品及傳統化妝品的領域中被採用例如在頭髮噴霧中被用來當作增量劑，在睫毛膏中被用來做接著劑及在身體乳中被用來作為乳化劑。

As a renewable raw material Shellac is adopted in several areas of natural cosmetics as well as in conventional cosmetics, e.g. as a brightener for hairspray and nail polish, as a binder for mascara, a natural emulsifier for bodylotion.
